Chillers

A chiller use to remove heat from a liquid via a vapor-compression, adsorption refrigeration, or absorption refrigeration cycles.

water-cooled chiller uses recirculating condenser water from a cooling tower to condense the refrigerant. A water-cooled chiller contains a refrigerant dependent on the entering condenser water temperature (and flow rate), which functions in relation to the ambient wet-bulb temperature.

Centrifugal

TICA flooded centrifugal chillers perfectly combine applications of efficient parts with internationally leading technologies. Having a centrifugal type compressor it gives better COP for huge Capacity requirements and Energy efficiency of the whole series chillers reach the national standard of energy-saving products. Chillers can be widely used in various places such as large public buildings, hotels, hospitals, stadiums, and industrial sites

Mini Air Cooled
Scroll Chiller

A system that cools water for the purpose of cooling, humidifying or dehumidifying the air. Most often, they are used in air conditioners.

An industrial air-cooled chiller is a refrigeration system that cools fluids and works in tandem with a facility’s air handler system. A chiller has four main parts: an evaporator, compressor, condenser, and expansion valve. An air-cooled chiller works by absorbing the heat from processed water.

Components of Chillers

Chillers can be found in most medium to large buildings and will produce the chilled water that is used to provide air conditioning.
There are many different types of chillers but essentially they all have the same main components.

Compressor

The compressor is the the prime mover, it creates a pressure difference to move the refrigerant around the system.

Expansion Valve

It’s purpose is to expand the refrigerant reducing its pressure and increase it’s volume which will allow it to pick up the unwanted heat in the evaporator.

Power Unit

The purpose of the power unit is to control the flow of electrical power to the chiller.

Condenser

The purpose of the condenser is to remove heat from the refrigerant which was picked up in the evaporator.

Evaporator

Its purpose is to collect the unwanted heat from the building and move this into the refrigerant so that it can be sent to the cooling tower and rejected.

Water Boxes

The purpose of the water box is to direct flow as well as as to segregate the entrance and exit.
